Not to be confused with Master of Illusion, as those are only pretending to change or create things (although a reality warper is usually capable of creating illusions, the tropes overlap in that case). For a funny way of defeating reality warpers, see Puff of Logic. For the same reasons, reality warpers who are antagonistic towards the protagonists are prone to Just Toying with Them. If they are unique then the only solution is Forgot About His Powers or Deus Exit Machina. Nothing can pose much of a physical threat except other reality warpers (although, depending on the extent of their abilities, they may still be vulnerable to threats they aren't aware they need to stop or don't know how to stop). Writing characters like this can be a challenge, given how easily this ability can turn into a Story-Breaker Power. Also expect initial Power Incontinence resulting from the power not necessarily being limited to his conscious thoughts, and a character arc about the importance of self control. Protagonists aren't often this character type what's the point of a story when you can just end it right then and there? If the protagonist is one of these, expect them to either have a reason for not using it or for all of the antagonists to have powers on a similar or greater scale. Expect accidentally summoning one of these beings to be an unintended side-effect of warping reality, the abomination will likely go on to be the new antagonist shorty after doing something to the warper. note Some authors however will make Eldritch beings " beyond" reality warpers and even worse than the warpers themselves (if an analogy is given, it may be something like: the warper can rewrite the lawbook, the abomination is the fire that consumes the courthouse). Eldritch Abominations are often capable of this, usually to horrible ends. Cartoon characters also often employ this ability as a gag. The common modern fantasy concept of a granting wishes invokes this premise *poof* and stuff happens. However, there's a difference between all magic being technically like this and characters who can change things just by thinking it without following rules of magic like only being able to use existing spells. I'm just ready for a more realistic MyTeam mode.In both modern Speculative Fiction and older folklore, low-to-moderate versions of Reality Warper are standard-issue for magic, since magic by definition uses its own rules, and therefore defies reality. I mean there are people who do drop money and don't get anything. I know I sound like an old man, but it's frustrating as a player who doesn't spend money to go up against any of these warped reality players. I still think the game would be more enjoyable though if players really had to use cards to their strengths, make more diverse cards with strengths and flaws. This would still lead to some major mismatches, for example, Giannis at C would be untouchable based on his speed alone. I mean it would be much more fun in my opinion if players had realistic attributes. I want a realistic MyTeam mode, which I know will never happen because 2k is some money-grubbing hoes. There is nothing special or unique about the top-tier players, it's only name and animations. It just seems like now the players can literally do everything. Or Ben who can't hit a damn free throw to save his life, is now cashing deep three's like nothing. He's getting down the court just as fast as anyone, can strap, and will blow by a lot of defenders from the three-point line. Hardly anyone is using him how he played in his prime, as a back-to-the-basket big. They take any realism the MyTeam game made has and throw it in the trash. However, I absolutely despise 2k for these types of cards. If you have one of these cards you should be able to compete against a lot of lineups, specifically Ben and Shaq. Everyone has insane speed, insane shooting, insane finishing. It feels like you are the luckiest guy on the planet. There's also not a better feeling than getting one of them in a pack, besides maybe a 40 grind paying off at the end. There is nothing more fun than banging home threes with Shaq or Ben while also being able to run the floor and yam it home on literally anyone. Here is my opinion on these types of cards.
